        Edna Earl Beachum. daughter of John and Lucy Tate, was born in Hamilton County, Illinois, February 9, 1913; departed this life July 13, 1942, aged 29 years, 5 months and 4 days.

        She was united in marriage to Carolton Lee Beachum on March 31, 1941.  To this union an infant son was born, but did not live to know a mother's love.  Mother soon followed and had the privilege of taking in her arms the one for whom she sacrificed her life to bring into the world.

        She professed faith in Christ some five years prior to death, but never united with any church.  As a child she was obedient at home and school, having won the love of her many schoolmates.  As a wife and neighbor, she was ever ready to make home and the the lives of all it was her pleasure to meet happier by having know her.  Her friends were numbered by her acquaintances.

        She leaves to mourn, her companion, father, three sisters, __sie Jones and Mattie Russell, of McLeansboro, Mary Campbell of Norris City; three brothers, Jerry of Aurora, Illinois, Otis of St. Louis, Mo., Tilman of McLeansboro.  Her mother, two sisters and two brothers preceded her in death.  She also leaves many other relatives and friends.

        She passed from labor to reward with a prayer on her lips.  Funeral services were held at Smith Church, conducted by D. H. Knight.
