EDITH BOND

Edith, daughter of William and Sarah Elizabeth Hayter Davis was born August 1, 1868, died January 3, 1932 at the age of 63 years, five months and tow days.  She was married to John E. Bond on September 24, 1891 with whom she lived happily until September 14, 1927, when he passed to the great beyond.  To this union was born six children, five of which survive--one dying in infancy.  The ones surviving are Arthur, Carl, William, Ella Hutchcraft all of near McLeansboro, Illinois and Agnes Seiling of Gilman, Ill.  She also leaves six grandchildren, one half brother, Marshall Davis of McLeansboro, Ill., and one stepbrother, Charles Hooker of McLeansboro, Ill. besides many other relatives and friends.  Mrs. Bond heard the call of her Master when a young woman and was converted and joined the Friendly Zion Baptist Church at Aden, Ill. where she remained a faithful member until her Master called her home.  She was a very quiet, unassuming disposition, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need and by her many acts of kindness when won the respect and love of those with whom she came in contact.  She has been a patient sufferer for several months but through it all she has trusted in the Master whom she accepted many years ago.  May who we are left have the same faith and live here so we may meet her in Heaven.
