Obituary
Wallace Alex Campbell

Pub. Times, May 30, 1929

Wallace Alex Campbell, the son of Wallace and Lovina Campbell, was born near Macedonia, Ill., March 23, 1852; died May 16, 1929.  Age, 77 years, 1 month and 23 days.

He was united in marriage to Nancy Harriet Page on March 1, 1872.  To this union twelve children were born.  His companion and four children preceded him in death.  He leaves eight children, twenty-two grandchildren and five great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.  Their loss is his eternal gain.

He professed faith in Christ when young and united with the Baptist church at Antioch.  His suffering was great, but he bore it with patience, by trusting in the Lord until the end, often saying that the one in whom he trusted had promised to go with him through life and comfort him in the home of death.  He took great delight in talking to his friends about the Bible and had made it his main study for many years.  In his passing, we realize that the children and grandchildren have lost a devoted and loving father and the neighbors one that was a true and faithful friend in time of need.

Funeral services were held at Antioch church on May 17, conducted by D. H. Knight.
