SESSEL H. CLARK, 88, DIES AT HAMILTON HOSPITAL

Sessel H. Clark, 88, of Route 2, Dahlgren, died at 9:40 a.m. Sunday, March 17, 1991, at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro.

He had been in failing health.

Mr. Clark and his wife operated the Blairsville Store for a number of years.  He was a native of Wayne County.

Funeral Tuesday

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday from the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro, with Rev. Mark Lee and Rev. Robert Sefried officiating.  Interment will be in Garrison Cemetery in the Aden area.  Visitation at Gholson Funeral Home will be 5 to 8 o'clock Monday evening (tonight).

Mr. Clark was born in Wayne County September 6, 1992, the son of Charles T. and Sena Thomason Clark.  His father died when was two years old and Clark was reared by his mother and step-father, Tom Hutchcraft.

Wed in 1923

On May 16, 1923, he was married to Jennie May Hall.

Mr. Clark was a member and trustee of the Ellis Mound Missionary Baptist Church.  He was an avid sportsman.

Preceding him in death were his parents, his step-father, one son, two brothers and five sisters.

The Survivors

Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Glenn (Helen) Friel of Rock Island; a sister, Mrs. Leo (Celia) Moore of Tremont; five grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews; and a daughter-in-law.
