A Good Woman Passed Away

Sarah Elizabeth Ore Denny, was born in Knoxville, Tenn. March 2, 1855.  She departed this life November 26, 1918, being 63 years, 7 months and 24 days old.  She was one of a family of twelve children.  June 9, 1881, she was united in marriage with Robert M. Denny.  To this union was born eight children--three sons, Walter, Rufus E. and James A.; five daughters -- Mrs. May Lemay, Mrs. Iva Harrelson, Miss Bertha, Elizabeth and Della.  The latter two died in infancy.  She was hopeful and contented.  Always striving for the good of her friends and children.  Her ambition was that her children become worthy in life.  She was a faithful wife and a loving mother.  Mrs. Denny knew that the end was coming and told her family that she was prepared to go to the Great Beyond.  Funeral services were held at Concord church by W. E. Bennett, after which the remains were laid to rest in that cemetery.
