James G. Perry

        A former resident of the Garrison community south of Wayne City, James G. Perry, died at 4:50 p.m. Saturday, August 8, 1981, at the Veterans Hospital in Danville.  He was 76 and was never married.

        Mr. Perry was born in Hamilton County, November 1, 1904, the son of the late Rev. Hulbert Perry and Estella Garrison Perry, who preceded him in death.  He was also preceded by one brother, Milton H. Perry.  Surviving are a sister-in-law, Maxie Perry, and a few cousins.

        He was saved at an early age and joined the Ellis Mound Baptist Church and was baptized.  He was a veteran of WWII.

        Memorial services were held at Gholsons Chapel in McLeansboro Monday with Rev. H. H. Mayberry in charge.  Burial was in the Garrison Cemetery.
