Mrs. Ruth Johnson, 75, a Gibson City resident since 1919, died at 12:30 pm.  Tuesday October 5, 1976, at Gibson Community Hospital.  Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Lamb Funeral Home, the Rev. Don Jones officiating.  Burial will be in Gibson City Cemetery.  

Mrs. Johnson was born February 17, 1901 in Wayne County, a daughter of Thomas and Ida Taylor Hutchcraft.  She married Paul Johnson June 22, 1918 in Hamilton County, IL.  Surviving are her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Doris Simpsen, Arrowsmith and Mrs. Rachel Cowan, Dickinson, Tex.; a son, Wayne Johnson, Long Beach, Miss; four sisters, Mrs. Pearl Turner, Fairfield; Mrs. Maxie Perry, McLeansboro; Mrs. Madge Johnson, Peoria and Mrs. Celia Moore, Tremont; three brothers, Howard Hutchcraft, Gibson City; Sessel Clark (1/2 brother), Wayne City and John Hutchcraft, McLeansboro; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.  A sister and a brother preceded her in death.
