1.  ISAIAH⁵ STANDIFORD  (JOHN⁴, JOHN³, WILLIAM² STANFORT/STANDIFORD, UNKNOWN¹ STANDIFORD,) was born Aft. 1736 in MD, and died Aft. 1810 KY.

Notes for ISAIAH STANDIFORD:

This Isaiah is quite possibly the son of John and Esther Fuller Standiford, although there is no definite proof.  John and Esther had a son named Isaiah Standiford born after 1736 in MD.  (See their genealogy).  This Isaiah, son of John and Esther, is the only known Isaiah Standiford born in the 1700s to date.

Isaiah is mention as the father of Anne Nancy Standiford who married John Dodson 1811 in Pulaski Co., KY.  From Pulaski County Kentucky Marriage Records: John Dodson-Ann Standiford m. April 12, 1811 (bond); joint consent of William Dodson and Isaiah Standiford; Surety, Thomas Vitteto. John Dodson was the son of William Dodson and Sarah Barron.  The Dodson and Standiford families of Pulaski Co., KY migrated to Howard Co., MO, early where they intermarried.

We find Isaiah first on the Lee Co., VA 1799 tax list, listed in “From Early Settlers of Lee County, VA & Adjacent Counties (1977) by Ann W. Laningham (along with Archibald Standifer/Standford) and then in Pulaski Co., KY, where he consented to his daughter’s marriage and is found living with his son, Jobe Standerford on the 1810 Pulask Co., KY.  (Jobe Standiford m. Ruth Dodson, daughter of William and Sarah Barron Dodson).

Isaiah is living with Job Standerford on the 1810 census of Pulaski Co., KY:
Job Standerford, 1 m 45+, 1m 26-44, 2m under 10; 3f under 10 and 1f 26-44.

Job was deceased by 1830.  Ruth is living in the same county as her son, Dodson in 1830.  She does not appear in the 1840 census.

Two known children of Job and Ruth are Dodson and Skelton.  Other early Standifords who could have been their siblings are: Jemimah, Agnes, John, Nancy, Prissilla, Sally and Mary. (From early marriage records of Howard Co., MO).

From the Annals of Platte Co., MO:
Thomas Standiford died in March 1874; died near Edgerton March 15, 1874.  He was an esteemed farmer, Baptist and Democrat.  He married first, in 1834, Rhoda Jennings, born May 4, 1815; died in 1863.  Their children are listed in this publication.

Thomas Standiford died without a will, leaving his widow, Lucy; Margaret Cook, wife of Hiram of Buchanan Co., MO; William D. Standiford of Platte Co.; heirs of Nathan Standiford of Leavenworth Co., KS; heirs of Mary E. Sayle of Platte Co., MO; John E. Standiford of Jefferson Co, KS; James A. N. Standiford of Jefferson Co., KS; Martha J. Rolston of Platte Co., MO; Samuel Standiford, of Platte Co., MO and Thomas H. Standiford of Platte Co., MO.

There were many Estate papers missing, such as the receipts showing what each heir received.  There was also nothing to indicate that Thomas Standiford owned any real property (though the census says otherwise).  It would have passed on to his widow.  No mention is made of his children with Mrs. Lucy Ann Snell.
